A total of 630,000 sq ft of office space requirements in the City of London have recently been announced by 6 of the largest law firms in the capital, including Berwin Leighton Paisner which has a 2019 lease expiry on its existing 160,000 sq ft lease at Adelaide House, EC4.

3.4m sq ft of office space in the last year was taken up by large law firms in the last year throughout the City core, according to research undertaken by EGi. However, many of these firms are now economising and making workspace innovations in light of market uncertainty; exemplified by Freshfields’ prelet at Brookfield’s 100 Bishopsgate, which at 255,000 sq ft reduces its take up in the City by 116,000 sq ft. Baker McKenzie, Kingsley Napley, Withers, Squire Patton Boggs and Sidley Austin are the other aforementioned occupiers considering relocation. research undertaken by EGi.
