Newton Perkins advises on second major pre-letting at the “Walkie-Talkie"

The lure of the City of London tower buildings continues!! Following the earlier pre-letting to tokio Marine Kiln, Newton Perkins has now advised on another major pre-letting at the “Walkie-Talkie” (20 Fenchurch Street), acting for Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe who have signed up on 51,000 sq ft on Levels 10-12 of this iconic building.

At the same time, Liberty Syndicates (who also form part of the global Liberty Mutual Insurance Group) have signed on 66,000 sq ft on Levels 21-23.

The building is now 53% let, following the earlier pre-lettings to Tokio Marine, RSA, Markel, and Ascot Underwriting, with Newton Perkins advising on a significant proportion of the current take-up in the building.

These latest deals confirm the high degree of activity at the top end of the insurance market, and underscore the importance of this new landmark development within that sector.

Simultaneously, British Land / Oxford Properties have over 50% let or under offer in their “Cheesegrater” development opposite Lloyd’s, The Leadenhall Building (click here for further info).

The Heron Tower in Bishopsgate is expected to confirm a raft of further lettings shortly whilst The Shard continues to attract speculation that completed lettings will be announced. It is believed that Al-Jazeera have signed a commitment whilst Duff and Phelps and South Hook Liquid Natural Gas are reported to be in advanced talks.
