Leadenhall Street becomes "Gotham City"?

A new development plan has been unveiled by Henderson Global Investors for its Leadenhall Triangle site at 40 Leadenhall Street, EC3, which is located in the heart of the City of London’s insurance district.

The development has been dubbed “Gotham City”, a tiered building ranging from between 7 and 34 storeys spanning almost 1m sq ft of space split into 890,000 sq ft of offices and 20,000 sq ft of shops.

The designs were drawn up by Make Architects and launched to the public this morning at an exhibition at St Katherine Cree Church, 86 Leadenhall Street, EC3.

The building will be highly sustainable and is designed to blend in seamlessly to its surroundings without marring the views on the ceremonial route along Fleet Street towards St Paul’s Cathedral.
