First occupier for City’s tallest skyscraper

Global specialist insurer Hiscox is to occupy 75,000 sq ft on a 19 year lease over floors eight, nine and ten of 22 Bishopsgate, known as TwentyTwo, once construction is completed at the end of 2019.

The 62 storey building will become the tallest building in the Square Mile, formerly known as The Pinnacle. Now managed by AXA IM on behalf of investors, TwentyTwo will hope to secure other occupiers ahead of its completion, as it aims to fill 1.275 million sq ft of office space in the EC3 building.

It is expected that Hiscox’s staff will take occupancy as part of a phased move early in 2021.

The letting contributes to another significant pre-let this year which has accounted for 45% of take up in the City in 2018.Some of those key deals include Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner to Governers House to take 127,000 sq ft and Sumitomo Mitsui to 100 Liverpool Street for 161,000 sq ft.
